I can be stupid too!
Conversation from yesterday:

[info]corkyelmendorf: ". . . so then Kate sent me a text message and said it was from her cat, Pet--"

Me: "They named the cat Pet?"

[info]corkyelmendorf: "It's after General Petraeus."

Me: "Is he from Star Wars?"

[info]corkyelmendorf: *blinks* "No. He's the commander of U.S. forces in Iraq."

Me: "Oh yeeaaaah. Of course."

Seriously, I knew that on one level--but clearly not on the "everyday operational knowledge" level. But doesn't it sound like a Star Wars name?

seriously. every time i hear his name on the news i wonder if they're talking about some fictional character. it's not just you. He has a roman warrior sounding name!

Ok, see here, you should never name a cat after an evil or mean person. My cousins were little when Watergate was going on,and they kept hearing the tv talking about Mitchell this and Mitchell that... So then this little white kitty came along and they decided to name him Kitty Mitchell. This was the most unpleasant, mean, and evil kitty ever in the whole wide world. The only cat in my entire life I've ever been really scared of.

I have not yet met Pet (probably will next month). I will report back and let you know if your experience holds true (I hope not, I'm afraid of mean cats!).
